Freedman established the Web Site Marketing Group to offer detailed marketing analyses and a select set of communications and consulting services, including search engine marketing and online public relations, to operators of business web sites. Freedman also frequently focuses on online marketing issues through his speaking and writing. He has been selected as a speaker by organizers of conferences on online communications and e-commerce issues. Freedman was Vice President Marketing for ArtNexus Online, Inc., where he managed Internet marketing, strategic planning, e-commerce and direct marketing for a web site and magazine focused on Latin American and Hispanic art. He was responsible for content development, review and approval, search engine optimization, log analysis and user tracking. A comprehensive media relations and e-marketing effort led to increased awareness of the magazine and more than a 4,450% increase in web site traffic. Freedman worked as Director of Internet Marketing for the Life Extension Foundation Buyers Club, where he led a team of Internet marketing specialists for a multi-million dollar health supplement company. Scope of responsibility included advising the CEO on web site development and marketing issues, training marketing team members, developing and distributing a newsletter to an audience of 8,000 and monitoring Internet marketing campaigns including banner advertising, sponsorships, portal deals, pay-per-click campaigns, affiliate marketing efforts and e-commerce tenancies. Innovative marketing programs generated over 11 million in yearly online sales and achieved up to a 650% return on investment. An affiliate program recruited over 1000 affiliate organizations and generated more than 1 million in gross sales. LEF broke new ground in Customer Relationship Management through use of IContact technology. From 1993 to 2000, Freedman also served as principal of American Healthcare Consultants, Inc., where he directed national health care communications for a leading healthcare management consulting firm. Position entailed developing professional associations, publications, conferences and web sites for a multi-billion dollar healthcare niche. Developed, marketed and managed the American Academy of Wound Management, which serves as the national certifying board for physicians, nurses and therapists involved in wound care. Freedman fine-tuned his public relations skills at Bruce Rubin Associates Public Relations Counselors where he joined a national public relations practice that counsels leading national companies and organizations about strategic, marketing and internal communications, media relations and crisis management. He was responsible for providing public relations counsel to major companies including Humana, Integrated Health Services, Shearson Lehman, Florida Power & Light, Genentech, Johnson & Johnson, ATT and Texaco as well as directing firm promotion efforts. Achieved national recognition for the firm through focused media relations efforts. Acquired new accounts including United Parcel Services and Mercedes Benz. Received a National Mature Media Award for a media relations campaign for Humana, Inc. Freedmans experience also includes work in daily newspaper and television journalism and as director of communications for American Heart Association of Greater Miami.
