Michael Lane, Principal, has over 30 years experience in industrial sales and marketing management with mid-size and small industrial companies. He is experienced in sales management, industrial marketing, business planning and market research, and new product/market development, in both domestic and international markets. Mr. Lane has a successful record in the commercial, industrial and government/military markets and has held positions from sales, marketing and sales management to senior executive. His entire career has been associated with new program start-ups, market development and turn-around situations. He has been called upon to take under-performing product lines, or entire company programs, and develop new growth initiatives. Early in his sales career, he developed new territories for Kierulff Electronics and ITT Cannon Electric. At Cannon, he helped initiate the first market research and new market development program. At Schlumberger/Vector, Mr. Lane took over an under performing product line and initiated a highly successful new growth program. He was later recruited to the Rochester Div. of BTR Plc, as Executive Vice President, to institute an aggressive new market development program to replace a severely declining oil industry product line. And, at Amko Plastics, he helped reverse a company in crisis by installing the first sales and marketing planning program, stabilizing the sales staff and initiating market based sales programs to rebuild a declining distributor base. Mr. Lane is the Principal of Marketing & Sales Solutions - providing industrial sales and marketing consulting services for small/mid-size industrial and B to B companies. Mr. Lane has been a retained advisor to the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Sciences (TechSolv). In addition, he has been named as one of a select group of industrial sales and marketing consultants nationwide, qualified to conduct comprehensive sales and marketing operational assessments for the NIST Manufacturing Extension Programs. He has served on the Board of Advisors for the Cincinnati Chamber Small Business Assistance Center and on the Industrial Advisory Committee for the E.P.A. Technology Transfer project conducted with the University of Cincinnati School of Engineering. He is a mentor for the University of Cincinnati Goering Center for Family and Private Business, as well as, a contract counselor for the Dayton Area Manufacturing Small Business Development Center. Graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in business finance. Continuing education through a variety of seminar and symposium based programs at M.I.T., The Wharton School, Texas A&M University and other company sponsored programs.
