Catherine Kaputa is a branding expert who has built brands from scratch and helped rebrand tired brands into something vital and relevant again. Catherine takes the branding principles and strategies of the commercial world and applies them to individuals. For fifteen years through 2001, Catherine was a SVP, Director of Advertising and Community Affairs at Smith Barney. She handled all advertising and branding campaigns for the corporate, private client and investment banking groups worldwide. She also initiated the private client group’s cause-related marketing and philanthropic program. Catherine’s first big job in advertising was at Wells, Rich, Greene where she supervised the award-winning “I Love NY” tourism campaign for four years. Her early mentors in advertising were Al Ries and Jack Trout during her four years at Trout & Ries Advertising where she worked on a wide range of accounts. Catherine has a B.A. from Northwestern University, an M.A. from the University of Washington and was a Ph.D. Candidate at Harvard University.
