In 1944, Lloyd A. Sauer started a printing business, Colorprint Products, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He recognized the need for printed signs to help sell products at the point of sale and started producing window displays for shoe stores, department stores and automotive showrooms. By providing turnkey products and service for his clients, Sauer became one of the first entrepreneurs to venture into the point-of-purchase industry. The company quickly grew in the 50s with branch offices opening in Chicago, Detroit and New York. Sauer changed the name of the company to Display Corporation to service an impressive client list that included Cadillac and Buick, two of our longest standing clients, as well as other prominent manufacturers such as GE, Philco and Frigidaire. By 1969, we had broadened our sales base to include international markets and modified our name to Display Corporation International. After a fire gutted our facilities in 1979, we opened a new headquarter office at our current location and changed our name to DCI Marketing to better reflect our expanded services in direct marketing and sales promotion.
